Basudha’s Biotechnology Laboratory for Conservation, Kolkata invites applications from young scientists for the position of Research Assistant for work (a) in nutraceutical analyses of rice landraces and wild food plants; and (b) molecular barcoding of different plants and animals.
Min. Qualification: M.Sc. in zoology/ botany/ biochemistry/biotechnology/molecular biology. Familiarity with PCR, Spectrophotometry, biochemical methods and extraction from plant tissues are desirable.
Pay: We are unable to pay emoluments at par with UGC fellowships, because Basudha Laboratory does not receive any institutional funding support. Donations from friends would enable us to pay an emolument not exceeding INR 14,000 p.m. Exceptional candidates may be considered for a senior position with higher emoluments.
Research Assistants may enrol for Ph.D. in collaboration with a University.
