Hands-on Training in MOL. BIOL. Techniques for Students: Final Announcement

Basudha Biotechnology Laboratory for Conservation, Kolkata will give a hands-on Training in Molecular Biological Techniques involving protein and DNA characterization from the 21st to 25th November 2016, at Kalikapur Canal Road, Kolkata 700099.

The course curriculum will include:

1.  Plant DNA Extraction and Purification techniques.

2.  Separation of DNA through Agarose Gel Electrophoresis.

3.  Quantitative assay of DNA and Proteins using Spectrophotometry.

4.  PCR Amplification and Genotype Analysis.

5.  Extraction and Purification of PROTEINS from different plant tissues.

6.  Bioinformatics Applications: DNA and Protein Sequencing, Blast Search, tree building etc.

Registration begins September 15, 2016.
Open for graduate and post-graduate students of Zoology, Botany, Life Science, Biotechnology, Biochemistry and Microbiology.

Fees (inclusive of breakfast, lunch and tea) for 5-day Schedule:  

– for students – Rs. 7,500.

– for institution faculty members – Rs. 10,000.

Dormitory accommodation for students may be available @Rs. 100 per head per night, on prior confirmation.
